Viewing the Emergent City and Its People

Thames Barrier Park – by Joe Shaw

This film highlights one balmy sunny day at the Thames Barrier Park in London. Set within 22 acres of lawns, trees and uniquely contoured Yew and Maygreen hedges you can discover the delights of this urban oasis. An international competition held in 1995 selected designers for the landscaping, structures and facilities.

The result is a haven of tranquil waterside open space featuring fountains gardens, copses and wildflower meadows.

Music: Opus 23, Dustin O’Halloran
